The Conservative Party’s policies have hit public services both nationally and locally, and that the government made no effort to provide new funding for the North of England in the budget plans.
Cllr Thomas, the Labour leader of Bolton Council, said: “The Tories have taken tax from local people and handed back crumbs”
“Children’s services at breaking point, our NHS and social care in crisis, young people left behind, our police stretched and struggling to keep our streets safe, rising homeless and flatline wages forcing hardworking families to the brink.”
She added: “Bolton residents will be further fed up with the disparity in funding for our roads and transport connections in the North. There was no attempt to end the vast sums of local tax sent to subsist the South.”
