You told us to move further and faster with regenerating Bolton Town Centre.

Labour delivered a £100m cash injection, that has now inspired multiple private sector investment programmes.  This will be primarily housing and office led, with a major transformation of the Crompton Place.

We promised that our initiative would not burden the taxpayer, and the original £100 we have delivered will be paid for by using windfall cash from dividends in Manchester Airport.

Our plans will take a few years to complete, but once complete, we will see over 2,000 new housing units in the town centre, which in turn will take pressure off our Green Belt. New shops, eateries and family leisure facilities will be developed as a result of the new central population.

In addition to this, the council has also announced a new funding package of over £16 million that will spent regenerating our local town centres, including Westhoughton, Farnworth/Kearsley, Horwich and Little Lever.
