Cllrs David Chadwick and Anna Marie Watters have persuaded Bolton Council to make funds available to regenerate Westhoughton Town Centre.
Over £1 million will be available for this purpose and we already seeking the views of shoppers, retailers and residents as part of the Master Plan for Westhoughton.
Suggestions so far include increasing the number of car parking spaces, grants to businesses and improving transport links into Westhoughton.
This is more brilliant news for our town, following our Regeneration Team’s recent excellent work to fill empty vacant shop units as quickly as possible.
The interventions will be targeted at Westhoughton, Horwich, Farnworth and Little Lever, where ultimately they would attract private sector investment.
