Before and after.

Horwich North East Labour Councillors Richard Silvester and Kevin McKeon have organised knee rail to be installed at the edge of green space land adjacent to Catherine Street East and Lord Street in Horwich.

Cllr. Richard Silvester was contacted by a resident on Catherine Street East who pointed out the problem of cars pulling up on the grass area leaving it like a muddy quagmire.

The land is owned by Bolton Council and is a small recreational area. Your Labour Councillors opposed a proposal eight years ago for the land to be built on for housing and because of this, the proposal was dropped.

Cllr. Silvester asked for a quote for 40 metres of knee rail to be installed with galvanised straps around each of the posts, which both himself and Cllr. McKeon approved through Area Forum monies.

Labour wishes to thank Bolton Council officers who have done a super job in its installation and the new knee rail will now keep cars off this recreational green space for residents to enjoy.

A small simple addition makes the area look much neater, tidier and mud free.
