Bolton Labour Launches New Pilot Scheme to Help Smokers Quit for Good

Bolton Labour is proud to support an innovative new pilot scheme to help residents kick the smoking habit for good. The Allen Carr’s Easyway method, now being offered by Bolton Council, provides free and effective support to smokers who want to make a positive change in their lives.

This groundbreaking programme combines a one-day seminar, available online or in-person, with expert follow-up support. The method is drug-free and focuses on changing how smokers think and feel about cigarettes, boasting a success rate of over 50% even after 12 months.

Why Quit Smoking?

Smoking remains the biggest cause of ill-health and death in the UK, significantly increasing the risk of developing serious health conditions. Yet quitting can feel daunting.

That’s where Smokefree Bolton, supported by the Labour-led council, comes in. This programme is creating a movement across the borough to help local people and communities become healthier, happier, and financially better off.

Cllr Jackie Schofield, Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing, said:

“This pilot is an exciting opportunity to trial an innovative and clinically proven intervention programme in Bolton. I urge all smokers to book a slot and give it a go. It’s never too late to stop, and this free support from our expert teams can really boost your chances of quitting for good.”

Support That Works

With specialist help, smokers are three times more likely to succeed in quitting compared to going it alone. Smokefree Bolton provides personalised support and free nicotine replacement therapies to local residents aged 12 and over.

The Allen Carr’s Easyway Centres have already helped millions break free from cigarette addiction, and now this proven approach is being made available in Bolton for free.
