The Labour leader of Bolton Council, Nick Peel, has announced that changes in Bolton’s bus services will include removing restrictions on the use of pensioners’ bus passes. Pensioners will now be able to use their free travel passes at any time, including before 9:30 a.m. Welcoming the decision, Nick called it a “significant win” for older residents, and follows years of campaigning on this issue by Labour councillors.
Additionally changes were announced to the Bolton to Middlebrook bus service, along with improved routes to the Logistics North employment hub which better reflect shift patterns.
The publicly controlled Bee Network is making a real difference, including better planning, capped £2 fare, and unrestricted free travel for pensioners and disabled people.
