I am dealing with a number of residents’ concerns in Darcy Lever, joined by our MP Yasmin Qureshi.
One of the issues I am dealing with on Kirkwall Drive is overgrown trees. They have become entangled in the telephone lines and many residents have reported hearing crackling sounds whilst on the phone.
All of these residents are retired, therefore it is vital that their telephone communications are clear in case of any potential emergency.
Additionally, roots from trees are breaking flag stones causing trip hazards.
I have already contacted the company which is responsible for maintaining the area. I will continue to pursue this and similar issues across the ward.
Our retried citizens should be able to live in a safe environment.
I have dealt with casework in little Lever, including vigorously pursuing the removal of rubbish that had been dumped near Ferney Side.
I had direct involvement through intervention in the successful resurfacing project of Stopes Road in Little Lever.
