The new Tory Councillor campaigned to get this funding removed from Breightmet, preferring monies to be redistributed to wealthier areas like Bromley Cross and Heaton. We said no!

Your Labour Councillors are responsible for the Area Forum Neighbourhood Management fund which allocates extra funding to the Ward in recognition of the challenges facing some of our residents.

We will continue to ensure that those extra funds stay in Breightmet for the benefit of our residents.

We will be using some of these funds to commemorate the end of the First World War with a poppy tribute from the people of Breightmet. We have also commissioned two benches to be made by the Men in Sheds, in remembrance of the war and these will be located at St James and St Osmunds churches respectively.
