Cllr David Chadwick has been working hard to help make access to the platforms at Daisy Hill easier for those with mobility problems and parents with young children.

David, who campaigned to make sure that the station was fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act, said “I am pleased to confirm that preparatory work will start soon to provide a lift from the booking hall down to the platform level, which will be of great benefit to passengers.”

In addition, Network Rail will also be carrying out refurbishments of the platforms, to bring into use the existing non-operational length.
