Emily Mort, your 2022 Council candidate in Crompton

Emily has lived and worked in Bolton for 10 years, and is glad to have put down roots in the town and proud to call it home. She has experience volunteering with various organisations in the community, helping to support our young people, those who are effected by social isolation and those that suffer from poor mental health. Through her work with the different communities across Bolton, she has learned about the diversity in our town, and believes this is one of the things that makes Bolton such a special place.

Emily has been actively involved with politics since 2017, having been an active campaigner in two General Election and 3 Local Election campaigns. She has had various roles, being a campaign organiser in both 2018 and 2019.  She was then elected as Bromley Cross Labour Branch Chair in 2021, whilst also being selected as the candidate for both the May 2021 Local Election and then again for the recent by-election in October.

Emily says, “I will bring this experience to my work in Crompton, and if elected I will work with the whole community to ensure that we have fit for purpose community venues, and fit for purpose green spaces that can be accessed by all. I will work hard to ensure that we clean up Crompton, for the benefit of all.  Making you proud to call it your community. Above all else I am here to listen to you. So please look out for me around Crompton or feel free to contact me directly.”
