Horwich North East Labour Councillors, Kevin McKeon and Richard Silvester have been lobbying Bolton Council’s Highways Department to resurface the junction of Ainsworth Avenue in Horwich with Chorley New Road because of the terrible state it has become. The road is a bus route and a key entrance way into the Brazley Estate and the New Chapel area.

Bolton Council will undertake resurfacing works on Sunday 27th September 2020 when the junction will be closed.

Cllr. Kevin McKeon said, ‘I am very pleased indeed that the junction will be resurfaced. Both I and Councillor Silvester have been calling for this for some time now so it will be a relief when the work is completed. We have both had many residents complaining to us about the state of the road and our lobbying to Bolton Council has paid off’.
