Local Party Structure
Local Party Structure
Bolton Labour is a vibrant and democratic organisation made up of members, activists, and representatives working together to deliver positive change across our communities. Here’s an overview of how we’re structured:
Executive Officers
Our Executive Officers ensure the smooth running of Bolton Labour’s operations and campaigns. These dedicated individuals lead and coordinate our work, providing strategic direction and support. Key roles include:
- Chair: Oversees meetings and ensures effective governance.
- Secretary: Manages communications and administrative tasks.
- Treasurer: Oversees financial matters and budgeting.
- Vice-Chair (Campaigns & Membership): Coordinates local election, community campaigns and helps grow our membership.
- Policy Officer: Supports the development of Labour’s local policies.
These roles, alongside others, form the backbone of our organisational structure, ensuring that the voices of our members and communities are heard and acted upon.
Local Constituency Labour Parties (CLPs)
Bolton Labour is organised into three CLPs, reflecting the parliamentary constituencies within the borough:
- Bolton North East CLP
- Bolton South & Walkden CLP (part)
- Bolton West CLP
Each CLP engages members in local campaigning, policy discussions, and community work. CLPs also provide a platform for members to select candidates and contribute to national Labour policies.
Branches
At the grassroots level, Bolton Labour is made up of local branches that connect directly with communities. Each branch is aligned with a specific ward or group of wards, ensuring members have a strong voice in their local area.
Branches play a key role in:
- Campaigning: Organising door-to-door canvassing, leafleting, and events in their communities.
- Engagement: Providing opportunities for members to discuss local issues and Labour policies.
- Candidate Selection: Supporting the selection of candidates for local council elections.
These branches are the heart of Bolton Labour, empowering members to take action where it matters most.
Affiliated Groups
Bolton Labour is proud to have the support of affiliated organisations that strengthen our movement and amplify our impact. These include:
- Trade Unions: Representing workers’ rights and providing grassroots support for Labour values.
- Socialist Societies: Groups that share Labour’s vision and work collaboratively to drive change.
Affiliates play a vital role in shaping our priorities and helping us deliver for the people of Bolton.
Working Together for Bolton
This structure allows Bolton Labour to remain deeply connected to our communities while driving forward our shared vision for fairness, equality, and opportunity. Whether through our CLPs, branches, executive officers, or affiliates, every part of our structure works together to build a stronger, more inclusive Bolton.
